Last night, Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW) kicked off in Karachi for their ‘Spring Summer’ lines. The three-day fashion show started off with a solo show by Pakistani brand, ‘Sana Safinaz’. They showcased their couture collections for the upcoming season. Their show featured semi-formals, formals, bridals, and some menswear too.
Here are some of the most phenomenal designs showcased on the ramp.
But before we get into that, we need to appreciate the stage set up. So spring!
The theme for the first half of the show was definitely boho-chic semi-formals.
From the sunglasses, the dupatta- bandana action to the way the dupattas were draped, it all screamed BOHO.
They also played around with colors, and the thing is, it worked wonderfully.
Also, Sana Safinaz’s attention to detail was just mindblowing. Each photo exhibits the amount of effort each look took.
My personal favorite was this floor-length kurta- also, you NEED to check those pants out.
The collection also exhibited jackets that are getting us very excited for the upcoming season
It was all ribbon-tastic!
One the looks that truly stopped us in our tracks was this white ensemble.
The veil was just so gloriously dramatic.
Yellow Formals? Sign us up!
The drama continued on the ramp with this absolutely stunning black and white formal.
And might we add, the necklines were definitely deeper we’ve seen, and this seems to be risk designers in Pakistan are willing to take.
Sana Safinaz was able to marry Western fashion sensibilities with Eastern motifs, and this piece exemplifies that.
Sana Safinaz really took out all the stops with this collection.
It was trail-mania on the ramp last night.
What a way to kickstart FPW Spring/Summer 2019.
It’s a bit too early to call on trend at the moment, but some things did stand out. Serious color blocking is definitely going to be a thing this season and it seems the jury is still out on the status of long and short shirts.
