The Guy Who Stabbed Khadija 23 Times Is Being Jailed And People Think Justice Was Finally Served

By Sajeer Shaikh | 29 Jul, 2017

If there’s anything that has pleasantly shocked Pakistanis recently is the fact that kabhi kabhaar, Pakistan main bhi insaf mil jata hai. First, it was Panamagate. Now, it’s the imprisonment of the man who stabbed Khadija Siddiqui 23 times.

In a surprising, yet absolutely welcome, turn of events, Shah Hussain, the attacker, was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment.

Shahzeb Khanzada’s tweet about her inspirational fight could not be truer. Khadija Siddiqui had to face character assassination and an unnecessary intervention by Facebook to get to this point. The odds were stacked heavily against her. Which is why the win comes as a surprise.

Her lawyer shared the news with relief and joy

Lawyer and digital rights activist, Nighat Dad, also shared the news

Additionally, she thanked Shahzeb Khanzada for all his effort.

A video of him being taken away was shared too

Politicians also spoke out about the matter

And many Pakistanis weighed in on the matter as well

They believed Khadija had finally received justice

And they ranked her among other women who were termed, “our conscience”

Overall, people were just really glad

They congratulated Khadija

And hoped this system of exacting justice would continue

Khadija’s attacker being held responsible for his actions is a great step forward for our legal system. It shows that despite having connections, you can and will be made to pay for your crime. We sincerely congratulate Khadija for being the brave fighter she is. Let us hope that this serves as a lesson for those who think they can get away with such heinous acts.
