This Moulvi In Hyderabad Was Arrested After His Video Beating Children With Pipes Went Viral

By Haddiqua Siddiqui | 14 Dec, 2018

Trigger violence: physical abuse/child abuse.

Child abuse in Pakistan is all-too-prevalent and offenders easily get away with it, without being convicted or even tried for the crime. This is exactly why it’s all the more infuriating when such acts are brought to light, showing us how we still have a long way to go. A video started making rounds on WhatsApp groups last night, where a moulvi of Sarhandi Noorani Masjid located in Masoom Shah Colony in Hyderabad was seen physically assaulting children.

To make matters worse, the man was completely remorseless. When asked by the person who made the video to stop, he told the man to go back to his prayers. Moreover, when the man asked if he would kill the children, he nonchalantly said yes.

Celebrities like Shehzad Roy and Ali Rehman Khan were the first ones to react on Twitter and ask everyone how was this justified in any way whatsoever.

The culprit was allegedly caught, with the Sindh government taking action by arresting him.

People were obviously not happy with what they saw and expressed their anger through their tweets.

Some believed such teachers should be brutally punished.

People even thought that the teacher should be given a taste of his own medicine.

Some people thanked the person who brought the entire incident to light through the video.

Others pointed out how such violence had nothing to do with religion.

However, one social media user pointed out something legitimate – what about the children who are subjected to the same torture at home?

Others highlighted how, in a world that is progressing, our society is held back because of such acts.

Truly, the entire incident is absolutely atrocious. It’s a pity that even though we’re nearing 2019, such incidents still take place in our country. Anyway, if you have something to add, let us know in the comments.
