India Just Refused To Play Asia Cup 2020 Because It’s Being Hosted By Pakistan

Challlllooooooo jee.

After exactly a decade, cricket is coming home as Pakistan has been nominated to host the Asia Cup in 2020.

And while this is a special honour for all of us to host the matches, it seems that a particular team across the border is not happy with the Pakistan Cricket Board acting as their hosts.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to send their team for the Asia Cup in 2020.

The Times of India reported that the BCCI said sending their team to Pakistan is, ‘out the question.’ They went on to say, “Playing in Pakistan is out of the question and so the hosts have been told to think about an alternate arrangement.”

Unfortunately, even though it may sound absurd, this kind of behaviour is not unprecedented. In 2018, the Asia Cup was meant to take place in India however Pakistan refused to play in the tournament thus, the Cup was moved to the United Arab Emirates.

So in other words, though Pakistan has been given the opportunity to host the Cup, if India and Pakistan do not come to terms by then, all the teams will be making their way to the UAE.

Of course, all of this information has led to a bit of chaos on social media.

It is clearly a bittersweet victory for Pakistan and we’ll just have to wait and see what the outcome turns out to be.
