What can I say, the whole debate surrounding Hania Aamir and Yasir Hussain has grown out into something else and has now grown to include Iqra Aziz and her follower list.
Around the same time people began bashing Yasir Hussain for his comments about Hania Aamir, Iqra Aziz unfollowed EVERYONE.
Because of the timing, people made the connection that Iqra has unfollowed everyone because of how they reacted.
In an interview, Iqra Aziz tried to clear the air about this and said that her unfollowing everyone had nothing to do with Yasir Hussain’s comment and how we shouldn’t let social media affect our lives and our relationships so much.
Following this, a lot of online entertainment pages began claiming that after Iqra unfollowed some celebrities, they unfollowed her too.
The list included Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Asim Azhar, and many others.
Following this, Asad Siddiqui took to Instagram in an attempt to clear the air about the whole situation.
In his post, he says, ‘Let’s use social media as a platform to make a real difference in the world instead of creating difference among us.’ He goes to directly address the news about him and Iqra, ‘Whether we follow each other or not should never be a point of discussion for our journalists to make news out of.’
He ends his note by saying that Iqra never followed him, and he never followed her either.
His last sentence read, ‘It makes no difference.’
It definitely was not right for any publication to go ahead and spread rumors about who’s following and unfollowing who. There’s a lot of misinformation around the internet these days, and it is best to always confirm such news before spreading them.
That being said, Imran Ashraf had the best response to Iqra Aziz unfollowing him.
