Hum Awards 2019 brought desi flair to Houston
The usual hype around any star studded event is inevitable. Be it an award function or a celebrity wedding, people are always looking forward to how their favorite celebs style their looks. This weekend, the much awaited Hum Awards took place at the NRG Arena in Houston, USA and apparently, it looked like the fraternity were provided with a theme since most of them carried traditional looks.
So without further ado, here are all our favorite Pakistani celebrities at the Hum Awards 2019 ceremony over the weekend in Houston
Let’s start with the hosts of the event, Sanam Jung, who donned two outfits for the night. The first one was a cape-style gown which she happened to have carried with grace.
For her second look at Hum Awards 2019, Sanam opted for yet another cape-styled outfit but one with a completely different look
She was by far, one of the best dressed celebs at the event, and that’s saying something.
Since we ARE discussing best dressed celebs at Hum Awards 2019, here’s Kinza Hashmi with a ravishing look that set the red carpet on fire.
She’s quite unrecognizable in this very different look for her but it’s also a pleasant surprise.
Then we’ve got none other than Ayesha Omer who also opted to carry two looks for the grand event
For the first one, she looked gorgeous in this sultry hot pink gown.
For her second look, she went all desi and set the event ablaze in a beautiful white saari.
Asim Azhar made a statement at the Hum Awards 2019 and wore something as a tribute to Kashmir through his look
Speaking of Asim, how can we forget Hania Amir, who stunned in a gorgeous saari
Although, I have to say she looks a bit aged in this look and not in a good way.
Kubra Khan chose a black… uhh…dress(???) with a combination of beige
Tbh, this dress really failed to impress.
Bushra Ansari stepped in with a traditional number at the Hum Awards 2019
The dress was heavily embellished, something that would be perfectly suitable for dulha/dulhan ki maa.
Zeba Bakhtiar also wore a traditional number to the event
Actress Hajra Yamin showed up at the event in a confusingly underwhelming dress
Someone called her a gola ganda and I couldn’t stop laughing.
Keeping in with what seems like a theme for the night, Sara Khan looked ethereal donned in a white desi dress paired with a beautiful embellished dupatta
Reema Khan also wore a white traditional dress but wasn’t quite up to the mark
Mawra Hocane paired her green dress with a moon shaped clutch, apparently trying to honor the Pakistani flag
Mawra is one of those who’ve been putting thought over her looks in the past. This really didn’t seem as impressive.
Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed were all dressed up in traditional outfits
Iqra Aziz carried a questionable look to Hum Awards 2019 in a popping green gown with an asymmetrical peplum at the top
Noman Ijaz and his wife Rabia were widely appreciated for looking stunning together
Momal Sheikh also opted for a white traditional ensemble with Ali Safina looking dapper in a suit

Nadia Afghan was another one of those who wore white and desi
Yumna Zaidi also opted for an all white look. She looked like a vision in a sleek dress with a trail at the back
Let’s not forget the dapper men of the evening. Starting with the one and only, Adnan Siddiqui who looked classy in a black sherwani

Muneeb Butt went for a bold look with an embellished jacket
The host, Ahmed Ali Butt wore a popping blue velvet jacket

Yasir Hussain could be seen supporting a black kameez shalwar along with a long buttoned jacket that gave us sherwani feels
Shahzad Sheikh opted for a bold monochrome look but the hair doesn’t seem to work for me
Honestly, the kind of style that was showcased at the Hum Awards 2019 seriously failed to impress. Some of us were excited to see our stars bring their A game since it was an international event.
Also, some of the biggest names from the industry seemed to be missing from the scene. Prominent names like, Saba Qamar, Mahira Khan, Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir, Sonya Hussein, Humayun Saeed, Aiza Khan, Sohai Ali, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Osman Khalid Butt, Fawad Khan and numerous others were nowhere to be seen. It was mentioned earlier that this year’s Hum Awards will be bigger and better than all previous ones, but it seemed like quite the opposite.
