Zahid Ahmed's Heartbreaking Journey To Become The Actor He Is Today Will Inspire You

By Iman Zia | 26 Jan, 2018

Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed is incredibly underrated. He transformed himself remarkably in the face of a dream that was slightly out of reach and faced a number of trials and tribulations that persevered. After a remarkable life journey, Zahid Ahmed is now one of the most sought-after actors in the industry. He’s currently starring in the critically lauded drama ‘Daldal’ where he plays an illegal immigrant struggling to make ends meet in London. He’s also allegedly set to topline the first Pakistani production for Netflix, along with his upcoming drama ‘Pukaar’ with Yumna Zaidi.

He started off working in an I.T. company that turned out to be fraudulent, began endlessly job hunting as funds soaked dry. With a crumbling marriage and no prospects, Zahid was stuck

Eventually, he was approached by Anwar Maqsood to play Jinnah – it was this startling event that led him to his inspiring transformation. The actor timelined his entire life’s chronicles on this Facebook post a year ago, to share the endless possibilities of dreams and that nothing is truly impossible.

This picture has been circulating on many websites and people have been asking me if this is true. Well here's the…

Zahid was critically acclaimed as Jinnah and began theater, however, the producer of the drama never paid him and after what seemed like a final moment of relief, the once ‘Jinnah’ was once again left drowning

It was only after a representative from Hum Television Network called the actor for an audition when Zahid was at long last saved. He was selected for drama ‘Mehram’ after a successful audition, costarring Ayesha Khan and Moammar Rana.

I entered Karachi wearing the shoes of Quaid e Azam. It was only a theater play. All I remember was being very sincere…

His next gig was another negative role, with a venerated ensemble cast of Saba Qamar and Mikaal Zulfiqar in drama ‘Sangat’

Zahid played Shavez, the man who raped Saba Qamar’s character Aisha. His eery projection of Shavez was acclaimed by both audiences and critics.

Throughout his troubles, his wife Amna never left his side, and both stood the test of time together

‘Besharam’ was another phenomenal feather in Zahid’s cap, and showcased him as a terrific actor with exuberant versatility and tapping into his plethora of talent

He played a determined aspiring politician who collides with Saba, a rising model. The drama brought forth two very different w, and crafted them into one, albeit catastrophic but heartfelt spherical mold.

Oh, and he might just be starring in the first Pakistani production for Netflix, making history

All I can tell you is that yes, it is very much an attempt for a Netflix original, they have very tough criteria for international productions to be titled as a Netflix original but we will be shooting the project along those guidelines. The casting is also international and the hero (myself) and heroine will be from two different countries for sure. Also it is based on an international award winning novel(not Pakistani) adapted to modern day Pakistan. It's a romance and action saga with heavy influences of religion, politics and a clash of two completely opposing cultures. The whole project is in English language(with subtitles) and I feel honored to represent Pakistan in this massive venture. #zahidahmed #netflix #honored
