People Are Not Happy With Yalghaar's Trailer Because It's Too Friggin' Violent

By Sarah Babar | 26 Apr, 2017

If there’s one thing that we’ve been waiting for, for the past 2 years, it’s Yalghaar. With the initial teaser coming out in 2015, people have been anticipating the release of the film hoping it’ll be the next Waar (fingers crossed). Yalghaar is an army-centric movie, where the mission is unclear, but the good-guy bad-guy hierarchy has been established, in the trailer. The movie is, also, supposed to be the biggest ensemble cast that we’ve seen in a Pakistani film, yet. *cue applause*

The initial teaser, that came out waaaaaay back in 2015, only gave us an introduction to the cast

There has been a lot of speculation around the film, what with its tall claims of a huge budget and competing with international cinema

The director, Hassan Rana (who’s previously produced Waar), is a pro in his field and is also seen acting in the film. While he looks like an adorable uncle ji in this life otherwise, he’s quite the opposite and sits perfectly into his role.

Movies like Yalghaar take on a social responsibility towards the audience, as well.

They are set to not only educate those watching about the Army, but also project an image of the forces that would make people want to enroll themselves in, too. Moreover, these films make you feel more patriotic than you’ve ever felt before, and also give you a newfound respect for the army (not that you needed a reason to respect the people who put everything on the line to protect us but these movies do a prettaayyy fine job at making us love our forces even more).

Aaand as of this week, the trailer for the film is out

The film is all set to release on chotti Eid, this year, and the trailer looks pretty lit..literally. One thing you’ll notice for sure is the fact that every few frames, another famous face jumps in, and well, we’re not complaining.

The film has the biggest stars in the cast and va va voom! Names like Shaan Shahid, Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui and Ayesha Omer are only the beginning. There’s Bilal Ashraf (IKR?!), Armeena Rana, Ali Rehman Khan *fans herself*, Gohar Rasheed, Sana Bucha, Umair Jaswal and many…many more!

There was just one thing, though…

There was just a massive influx of violence and guns, without anything breaking the momentum, for a big chunk of the trailer. Thank you for the eye-candy, tho. *ahem* Bilal-Ali *cough*

And these people aren’t holding back on their criticism

Here’s the trailer

Do you agree with the criticism? Or do you think you’re already bleeding green after the trailer? Let us know in the comments below.
