‘Yakeen Ka Safar’ will always be a special show. It had depth, clarity, and a certain realness that made it the kernel of a rising dawn over a recycled drama scene in Pakistan. The drama gave us new light, with a new on-screen pair to delightfully fawn over after years of pining for the famous Fawad-Mahira duo; Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly. At long last we could butter ourselves up with this beautiful pair, and unleash our inner fangirling, shipping, what have you may. ‘Yakeen Ka Safar’ brought forth an array of thematic elements, from romance to the darker, more raw societal issues that bud in our soil. It was dappled in tremendous emotion, and despite being such a harrowing odyssey, it’s raised the bar for all dramas to come. Here are all the times it was a little bit too emotional to handle…
*cue tears*

When Daniyal was wrongfully accused of trying to rape his secretary and thus become the reason of dishonor brought upon the Ali Khan family

When Daniyal’s father refused to support Daniyal as the case was brought more public because those involved (Rab Nawaz’s son) were high profile personalities with a whole lotta influence (corrupt AF basically)

THIS SCENE

When Asfandyar was dumped, in public by his bitch of an ex-fiancée Faryal

The last few words Daniyal and his brother, who were both very close were exchanged before his death, whereby Daniyal was dismayed to realize his younger brother didn’t know him well enough

This was the last time Asfandyar ever saw his brother

When Daniyal was unjustly murdered for fighting a case of a woman raped

…Leaving everyone who loved him behind, crippled and hollow

When Zubia’s mother was killed by her abusive father and remained voiceless, unable to do anything about it

When Ramiz (that asshole who set his eyes on Zubia after watching her in the play ‘Anarkali’) tried to date-rape her at his apartment

…And then she’s isolated by her friends and family when word breaks out

The moment Asfandyar realizes that Zubia was the same girl he saved all those years ago (from Ramiz) after he finds her I.D. card

That scene (award-worthy acting from Ahad) when Asfandyar recognizes Urooj, the woman who blamed Daniyal for trying to rape her and was involved in his death

…And then how he still saves her son

The harrowing bit when Zubia jumps into the river to commit suicide

The touching confession of love by Asfandyar to Zubia that pretty much turned our already shattered hearts into an abyss of nothingness

When truth at long last prevails, and Urooj comes forward and clears Daniyal of all false accusation

‘Yakeen Ka Safar’ was phenomenal. Truly, truly phenomenal.
