As the year draws to a close and the new year dawns upon us, we always find ourselves setting goals and thinking of fresh resolutions to help us navigate the next year. Some people focus on self-improvements like adapting a healthier lifestyle or drinking more water, others want to set benchmarks, both professionally and personally. However, we often lose sight of the bigger picture.
While making these promises with ourselves, we should also think about the impact we have on the people around us and our environment. Nestlé Fruita Vitals New Years video, “think beyond me” helped us think about just that.
Putting aside selfish goals that involved just us and our needs, we sat down to think about how we can influence those around us. And our planet. Here are a few goals team MangoBaaz is setting for 2019:
Biya wants to start volunteering more often.
Thinking “beyond herself”, Biya will be volunteering at an orphanage twice a month to give back to the young ones.
Ali Gul feels strongly about the environment, particularly the poor air quality in our urban cities.
To start off by planting more trees and educating those around us, Ali wants to have a positive impact on the environment in 2019.
Athar wants to cut back on his use of resources like water.
In the same spirit, we asked you guys how you will take part in the Nestlé Fruita Vitals campaign of thinking beyond yourselves…
And the answers were very heartwarming.
This person will be lending a hand in a pet shelter. With organizations like Todds’ Welfare Society, you can volunteer to help out as much as you want.
One person came forward hoping to spread awareness about mental health.
Every year, we lose a number of people to suicide and there are always a lot of conversations around depression but nothing concrete comes out of it. So it is heartening to see this person step up and try to fix just that.
These Good Samaritans want to cut back on plastic waste.
For as little as Rs 1500- 3000, you can adopt a child at an orphanage and bear all of their educational and living expenses.
To give you all some perspective, this is how much we tend to spend in a meal or two at an upscale restaurant.
Like Ali Gul, this person’s New Years Resolution is to help out the environment in their own capacity.

Spreading positivity might not seem like a whole lot but it’s quite possibly one of the best things you can do with your time.
