Waqar Zaka thinks he’s the reason Malala spoke up about Kashmir.
The Kashmir crisis is an issue that Pakistanis feel very strongly about. And to bring international attention to the issue, Pakistanis have been using social media to raise awareness. This includes asking prominent personalities to also join in and raise their voice about the issue.
And as usual, people wondered why Malala had not raised her voice about the issue. And when she did, people complained that it wasn’t enough and she needed to be more fierce in her condemnation towards India. Because of course, Malala can never do anything right in the eyes of many Pakistanis.
And recently, Waqar Zaka launched a campaign where he called out Malala for not using her influence to bring a bigger international focus on the Kashmir issue.
He criticized her for not actively protesting about the Kashmir issue and said that he would be unfollowing her for her lack of action against the Kashmir issue.

And today, when Malala made an amazing thread about the things she had been doing to help the Kashmiri people in her personal capacity as well as calling out the leaders of the UNGA and beyond to do their part for peace in Kashmir, Waqar Zaka was quick to respond to Malala.
He thinks that Malala made the Twitter thread because she felt some shame after watching Waqar Zaka’s videos…

People asked Waqar Zaka how he had even seen her tweet if he had so publicly unfollowed her and he further defended himself by saying someone had sent him a screenshot because they thought she had finally started addressing the crisis in Kashmir after Waqar Zaka’s videos.
