This International Designer Just Created Truck Art Style Kitchen Appliances And Like, Lol

By Biya Haq | 22 Apr, 2017

It is no secret that different designers around the world have copied or tried to copy a number of our eastern traditions and trends. Seen as ‘ethnic’ or ‘tribal,’ different styles of our own culture have been adapted to add more color and vibrance to runways and stores all over the globe.

In fact, lately, these trends have been coming up in the fashion industry more and more.

Recently, we were blessed with the lovely Balenciaga bag (kambal ka lafafa)

No stone has been left unturned it seems, with everything from shoes and accessories to clothes and jewelry. And just when it seemed like they couldn’t get enough, the world came back for more, and this time, it’s honestly pretty great.

Dolce and Gabbana has released images of their new set of kitchen appliances that look an awful like (literally ditto) our own traditional truck art.

The super successful fashion line has dominated runways for years and now they’re bringing their influence to the kitchen. In collaboration with ‘SMEG,’ an Italian kitchenware company, a line of small appliances is set to release in the fall. The designer has previously teamed up with the company when it released 100 unique hand painted refrigerators.

The new line will include citrus juicers, toasters, coffee machines and blenders, to name a few and will double as ‘art’ around kitchens all over the world.

The designs have been inspired by Sicilian folklore and illustrations but we have to say, it really does look similar to Pakistani truck art.

Like, really similar.

No shame D&G, the rest of the world loves us too, aap bhee ajaaien. We’ve got plenty of amazing culture and love to go around.

What do you all think about the new line? Does it look like our very own truck art? Are we just seeing things? Dolce and Gbye? Tell us what you think in the comments section below! Love you.
