Now, THIS is a rishta pic for the ages.

Shaadi season is hitting us all like a big brick wall.

And though being a guest at a wedding is mostly fun with all the dances and free food – weddings are also the main preying grounds for Rishta aunties.

That’s right.

With shaadi season comes rishta season. It’s a sick trade off but that’s just how it works.

And while most people are pimping out their daughter’s with cringey rishta photos, THIS mama has something else in mind.

This girl’s mom just posted the most BADASS picture for potential rishta’s for her daughter and it is probably the best thing to come out of Shaadi season so far.

Xenab F. Ansari is a Martial Arts enthusiast and all-around badass with one of the coolest moms in the planet. We reached out to her because, duh, she’s super cool and we want to be her friend.

When we asked Xenab about her mom, and she said: “My mom is a fun loving floral art designer who likes to prank her kids from time to time. She told me that I’ve become “khaufnaak” with all the martial arts I’ve been learning and guys are getting scared of me.”

“…I told her I’m not ever going to do the dupatta and chai setting since that would be outright lying to whichever family that comes over. So we came to a middle ground where we decided any representation of me to any interested party should see a photo that shows what I’m really about. What I didn’t know was that she’ll actually go and pick a photo of me during training lol.”

She went on to say, “It was seriously amusing and I did like the idea of this photo going out rather than a doctored pretty image of mine, since this is who I am, raw and as real as I can get.”

“What I loved though was the insane reaction, every single person who commented or messaged me had something positive to say about this post. Even my mom’s friends thought this photo is a good idea to send out. I really thought something like this would usually backfire given how a photo with a woman kicking would usually we considered a very unladylike activity, but its very apparent that this image and what mom did is what women do want to go out and do, and change about the way we currently do things like meeting a potential match. Major eye-opener.”

“It’s good to highlight the need for transparency and being who you are unapologetically when meeting potential rishtas. If someone doesn’t like who you are as a person and expects you to change, it’s unfair whether they’re male or female…

…You’re going to spend the rest of your life with them so its good to show your true colours or your true kicks.”

We even got a nice little insert from Xenab’s mom: “She passed it on to some unwitting rishta aunty (because we both don’t like rishta aunties lol and one was after her life for me so she thought it would be fun to make her life difficult), so she’s not actively looking out for a rishtas with this article.”

Lmao, love her.

Oh, and friends, turns out that Xenab’s kickass-ness didn’t just come from anywhere. Oh no, Xenab has actually orchestrated an entire campaign to promote the role of women in martial arts.

Xenab said, “I’ve gone to many places, demonstrated and taught women. Now I’m expanding my reach since I’m starting a digital series regarding verbal, physical, psychological, legal and financial self-defence and it is featuring the top experts in personal security.”

She went on to say, “Its a free service from us to all those marginalised in this country (there are too many to teach one on one as I tried, but this way we can make sure we reach a much larger set of people who can benefit from what we are teaching).”

“Women empowerment is getting more acceptable as days pass and what I have to teach is beneficial not only for women but there are specific courses we teach children as well.”

For more details on that, you can follow Xenab on her Instagram page and ask her any questions you would like.

Have you guys ever sent out awkward rishta pics? Do you want to learn Martial arts? Same. Let us know what you think in the comments below! Love you.
