However, she recently pointed out how she has been the target of body shaming

People are quick to point fingers at her weight and repeatedly try to bring her down because of it. In the many messages that she receives, not all are appreciative of the work that she does rather it is a constant effort to make her conform to their version of “beauty”.

Nabela, however, took to Instagram to address those haters and told them how she does not give a damn at all. She pledged to not let any of these comments effect her anymore.

But as my confidence strengthened, I became a fortress of self-love that could not be broken by the words of unhappy people. I learned quickly that happy people don’t say hurtful things. And that happiness begins with self-love. The girl I see in the mirror is beautiful with and without makeup, whether I am a size 6 or a size 16. So as 2018 begins, I’m leaving behind all of the words that once hurt me – all of the doubt that once controlled me. No one can tell us who we are. We are glorious. We are beautiful. We are worthy. The message of this video is so strong. She literally wipes off these labels and moves on towards doing what she enjoys

This is of course not easy to do. People are constantly trying to bring each other down. We find ourselves surrounded by so many labels everyday. It is only natural that these labels effect people, they internalise them and feel that they are not good enough to do anything in life.

Due to her personal experience, she realized how important it is to be kind to people. She understands what people go through and how far a positive comment can take them.
