I’m sure we all have seen the iconic posters from the Aurat March, that took place on March 8th. While women formed a majority, individuals from all genders from all over Pakistan came together in major cities to fight for equality in a patriarchal society. Some men were actually offended by this Aurat March, and hence came up with a Mard March, the actual posters of which were actually quite petty.
There were some posters at the aurat march which were absolutely absurd and baseless But this Mard March thing is absolutely pathetic and disgusting

Here’s where renowned comedian from Karachi, Shehzad Ghias Shaikh, comes in. At first, some thought the comedian may have behind the Mard March in the first place.
Shehzad Ghias at it again? 😆

I mean, he is the dude who created Samantha A. Gerry – the absolute icon. (RIP 2019-2019). But that’s not the case this time around. This time, he’s pretty vocal about which side he’s on. And the posters are a fitting reply to the pettiness shown in the original posters. He set out to respond to the posters seen for the Mard March. And it’s actually extremely funny.
In a series of posters posted on his Instagram account, he brilliantly calls out every other Mard March poster that was equal parts silly and misogynistic. Just as a quick recap of sorts, I’ve placed the posters one after the other – just so we can compare and contrast how beautifully this was executed.
So, remember this dude crying about how gents never come first?
Well, Shehzad’s got a very true answer for that.
Then there was this poster…
…and Shehzad didn’t spare that either.
Then, in response to the guy asking women to find their dupatta…
…Shehzad shared something that hit a nerve for single people.
You can feel the pain in that.
Now, this dude thinks we can’t get our own credit cards made.
But Shehzad here is reminding us that we can ALL get our credits card made…from him.
Then we come down to the placard from 2018 that started it all – the debate around garam khaana
Well, Shehzad doesn’t want garam khaana.
These weren’t the only pictures, though. Some pictures straight up troll certain prominent personalities who’ve been losing their shit on television screens – their sanity being undone by mere placards.
For instance, there’s one that talks about sasti Vaseline.
And another that talks about certain rights.
That wordplay, though. Amazing. The response he’s getting on his Instagram post is basically all of us right now. People can’t help but appreciate him and his sense of humor.
Though Shehzad’s placards are hilarious, they do shed light on how truly trivializing the Mard March posters were. It highlights how a movement that calls for equality in the face of heinous evils will be put down by those who are too privileged to understand the pain.
Good on Shehzad for being such a great ally! What do you think about his posters? Let us know.
