This Anda Just Beat Kylie Jenner For Most Liked Picture On Instagram And What Even Is Our Auqat Anymore?

By Sajeer Shaikh | 14 Jan, 2019

Look. 2018 was wild. It was all sorts of screwed up and I pretty much assumed that 2019 would be the exact same. However, did I know that I would wake up in the middle of the night to my phone buzzing with messages where people asked me to go like a picture of an egg? No, that’s just absurd. Yet, there I was, liking a picture of an egg from multiple accounts, just to contribute to it beating Kylie Jenner and becoming the most liked picture on Instagram.

As of when I’m writing this piece, the egg in question has already crossed 21 million likes btw. So…yeah. Anyway, let me recap real quick.

An account of an egg popped up pretty recently that offered little explanation. I’m pretty sure it was posted by something called Egg Gang…which, okay. Interesting. Now, there was just one picture on that account. And it was, well, of the egg.

This is what the egg looks like, in case you guys want to know.

“Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram, beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this 🙌,” said the faceless egg. And apparently, countless people agreed and hopped aboard the “screw-you-Kylie-an-egg’s-better-than-you” train.

The ambitious egg DID go on to beat Kylie. It surpassed Kylie’s record of the most liked picture, which was of her daughter, Stormi, holding her finger.

Cute, but apparently not anda level cute. Also, lol, only 18 million. Koi sikhaye Kylie ko.

Interestingly, people are also leaving comments on Kylie’s picture, saying she was beaten by an egg.

Which I’m sure she knows by now. Do y’all HAVE to rub it in?

Also, Stormi will grow up with the burden of knowing she couldn’t win against an egg on Instagram. Can you imagine? She walks into school and the kids are like tumhe toh anday ne hara dia.

Tragic.

Kylie has since responded, of course. She posted this video of her on Instagram where she’s cracking an egg on the pavement. Ruthless, but apt.

Take that little egg

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

“Take that little egg.”

Sis, don’t think it’s that little anymore.

In fact, can we please look at the number of followers that this egg has? Also, it has a business e-mail now. And it’s fishing for a blue tick.

Not to mention that smug AF username.

And, can we look at the engagement the post garnered?

I mean…hum kya kar rahe hain?

Well, as the news has spread, memes toh obviously ban rahe hain. I came across a few and I’ll share em’ with you so we can all know that we’ll never be good enough or as famous as this egg.

The “Who Would Win” memes have started pouring in, dragging both Kylie and Stormi.

Also, since V-day is around the corner, here’s an early meme you could totally use.

People are also celebrating the egg’s victory by aptly showing how it would flex, if it could.

People also think Kris is up to something.

I mean, I’d be concerned too if my daughter and granddaughter lost to an egg.

Then, of course, there’s a meme on how Instagram is filled with people talking about the egg.

People are also taking shots at Kylie’s guroor over Stormi’s picture.

And matlab anday ki tareefein har jagah hain.

Our collective human behavior was also memed.

Kylie ke liye itni nafrat? Hadh hai.

Also, this classic meme format resurfaced.

Funnily enough, a lot of new pages are also popping up now, after the record-breaking egg. From whisks, to dogs, to a Kylie-egg hybrid, everyone’s looking to break the record.

Will these Instagram pages be successful? Are all our picture useless? Should we all just collectively give up because an egg is more aesthetically pleasing than we will ever be? Let ya girl know in the comments below.
