People around you will now be getting married left right and centre. And usually, this means that you will have to shell out a lot of cash for new clothes, makeup, hair, gifts and lots more. And let’s be honest, there is nothing Pakistanis detest more than spending money. So this is the perfect place for you cause in this article I am going to give you all the tips on how to look fabulous without spending all your money.

1. Bride And Friends Deals

Usually, salons give discounts to those who accompany the bride on makeup and hair services. Make sure you consult the bride beforehand on where she is going and call them up to see whether they will give you a sweet deal and then get your glam on for a good price, girl! Places like Depilex, Madeeha’s and other makeup places give such deals so make sure you take ’em.

2. Beg, Borrow Or Steal

Just kidding with the steal part, do not do that. But beg and borrow if you must. A lot of times there are too many events and not enough fancy clothes for them. You can make a group on WhatsApp and Facebook consisting of friends going through the same ordeal and share clothes with one another. Or there are clothes swapping groups on Facebook already that have thousands of members and you can join them.

3. Thoughtful Gifts

At weddings, you are expected to give the new couple a nice little present. Usually, if you are young you can get away with giving a boxed gift instead of money. But of course, even wedding presents aren’t cheap, I mean do you know how much crystal vase costs? More than my paycheck, that’s for sure! But a good gift does not have to be expensive, it can be just thoughtful. You can make a beautiful pop-up card with pictures of the couple and add the story of how they met if you have an artistic flair. Or you can get customized his and her t-shirts or mugs; whatever you think they would like and use because it’s the thought that counts!

4. YouTube Tutorials

YouTube is now your new best friend. It is your makeup artists and hair stylist. There are so many tutorials on the website that one can get overwhelmed, but a good trick is to find those which cater specifically to you. How so? Make sure you type in the products you have while searching. If you have a certain eyeshadow palette mention the name in the search so the tutorials which come up are specific to your product and it is easier for you to get the job done. Same goes for hairstyling, mention the tools you have for the best results! Like this Pakistani YouTuber who has done tutorials with local products!

5. Sneaky Bridal Look Save

If you are someone who is having a lowkey event or is getting only engaged, you need to make sure that you do not overspend on your makeup. A lot of salons do almost identical looks for party makeup and simple bridal makeup but charge a lot more for the latter. You can simply tell them to give you a party makeup deal and then set your dupatta yourself at home. Or you can look at these super affordable make-up artists and choose the one who is in your budget.

6. Mix And Match

Your clothes for last years shaadi season do not have to be wasted. You can even lend them to friends and family or use some of the pieces for new ensembles. Use the bottoms and get new tops made. Or even vice versa. It will be like an entirely new outfit at half the cost! Or maybe just utilize your dupattas as this article instructs.

7. White Or Black

A neat trick is to get a really nice outfit made which is entirely black or white. And then you can pair various dupattas with it for whatever the occasion is. If you are going to a mayun wear a yellow dupatta or you could add a fancier one if you are going to a valima reception.

8. Jewellery

If you want to get good jewellery, it’s an investment and getting matching jewellery for all your outfits gets ridiculously expensive. So a good idea is to get all silver or golden jewellery with no coloured stones. This way you can pair it with various outfits.

9.  Buy In Bulk

If you and a lot of your pals face the same fate of being inundated with invites this shaadi season then you can all go shopping together. Select a shop where everyone likes something and ask the shop owner for a lot of discounts and they usually give great prices when you purchase a lot of things. Go to places like Liberty market in Lahore or Ashiana in Karachi for khulla kapra. OR if you can go to Ichra in Lahore or Saddar in Karachi for an even lower cost!

10. Buy Makeup Online

There are TONS of deals these days cause November is the global time for all sales and the trend has started in Pakistan. There are some super saver deals, and on this website, you can get ‘shots’ of make-up which are small repackaged quantities of foundation which can be used a few times and at a GREAT price. The website makes them into small quantities so it’s much more affordable than getting the entire bottle and gets the job done.

11. Hairstyling

If you cannot afford those high-end hair styling products or to get professional blow-outs done, then maybe you should try this hack which is Huda Beauty approved! What more could you want. Get a 1.5 litre plastic bottle and cut it into half, cut out a hole which is big enough to pass your hair dryer’s nozzle in. Then you can get amazing wavy curls and look like a total BABE with this cheap jugaar. Make sure you have hair products like hair spray or mousse for your hair to help the curls stay longer and get a tail brush to backcomb your hair as well to give it more volume and you’re good to go!

12. Don’t Go To Shaadis

Become a recluse and refuse to talk to anyone. Miss all the weddings you are invited to and soon no one will even bother inviting you. IMAGINE THE SAVINGS (and the crippling loneliness).
