Punjab University becomes the centre of attention every now and then. And the reason almost always is the same. Punjab University is becoming a home to the radical ideology and housing extremists.
Despite the fact that Punjab University is one of the best universities that we have in Asia, it is plagued by extremism
Two incidents of violence emerged on the same day, proving how bad the situation is.
A group of masked students, belonging to Islami Tamiat-e-Talaba, entered the university in search of Pakhtun students
They finally found a student in the Sociology Department, cornered him, and beat him up with sticks. He was beaten to the point that he was left unconscious and they safely left the premise of the university. No one intervened and tried to help the student.
is this the Future of Pakistan?

The Jamiat usually targets the students based on ethnicities, which has created a divide between the student population
As soon as this news broke out, Pakhtun and Baloch students joined forces to wreak havoc at an event organized by the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba students.

Apart from corruption PMLN has been failed in everything. If incident like #PunjabUniversity take place somewhere else then it might be acceptable, but it happened in Lahore(Paris). If you can't protect your students and then you can't protect country's future.

Jamiat needs to be dealt with on campuses across the country. They are the perfect illustration of how and why our educational institutions, which are meant to be safe spaces, are becoming increasingly violent and intolerant. Barbaric behaviour.#PunjabUniversity

This is a huge question mark on the safety provided on campuses
If one of the leading universities in Pakistan is home to an extremist environment, then it raises a question as to what we are teaching on our campuses. This is not the first time such an incident has been reported from Punjab University. It is not only shameful but also paints a very bleak picture of Pakistan’s future.
