So, as you all know, Indian actress Swara Bashkar called Pakistan a “failing state” during an interview with renowned film critic Rajeev Masand, after she was asked about her upcoming film ‘Veere Di Wedding’ being banned in Pakistan. She continued to state that the country was run by Sharia law, that the Indian film needed to stop giving a damn about what we do with regards to Bollywood films, and that Pakistan is “non-secular.”
Swara recently tried to backtrack on her offensive remarks about Pakistan in an odd series of tweets that we don’t really get tbh
???? Dushman ka dushman Dost!!! I’m totally okay with with being the dushman in this case if it brings some dosti to us bickering neighbours 🙂 🙂 Peace and love guys! ❤️ https://t.co/Fz82K6Wj9b

Now, fellow co-star, Sonam Kapoor has come to Swara’s defense in a statement, according to Indian publication ANI
Sonam spoke about all the trolling that Swara has been getting after the comments she passed on Pakistan being a failing state and about the masturbation scene that Swara performed in the movie.

But like, we don’t understand what she’s saying???
In her bid to try and calm down the situation, Sonam’s made a very confusing statement and we’re not really sure what she wanted to say, tbh.

Even Indians are making fun of Sonam’s defense of Swara

People just like to troll her because she has an opinion, says Sonam Kapoor in support of Swara Bhaskar

if she has her opinion…so does everyone on twitter…these days the difference between regular movies and porn is getting very little. so it is really imp to think if we really need actresses like swara?

Because Sonam called Swara’s critics “trolls”, people are saying that the critics aren’t trolls and that their opinions should be respected
They are not trolls. They too are expressing their opinions. Respect that
