Shoaib Akhtar has been in the spotlight these days. He’s been hosting the Ramazan show called Geo Khelo Pakistan with fellow legend Wasim Akram. The show has garnered populous viewings, and countless BTS videos and photos pop up almost everyday, depicting both players’ shenanigans.
What looks like a fun Q/A video of Shoaib Akhtar has surfaced online, where he’s ardently sharing stories about his bachpan and how he stays fit.
Comments flooded the video that’s gone viral across social media, but not around anything Shoaib talked about.
Note the caption.
Instead, all the comments were on the fact that he’s wearing makeup.
With many people being awfully cruel.
A lot of peoples’ true colors came out, proving just how intolerable we are of seeing men and women outside of the boxes we think they should be in
Many blamed Shoaib’s makeup artist
But, like social media has the tendency to do, some took it waaaayyy too far
People were livid that men could POSSIBLY look ‘effeminate.’
And that the idea that a man can wear lipstick is just COMPLETELY unfathomable.
BECAUSE HE IS A MAN AND MAN MUST NOT WEAR LIPSTICK.
Right? Let’s dismiss this legend based on the fact that he put on some lipstick…
Nahi, nahi why would he mind?
There were some, albeit very, very few, sane voices who did see no harm in a man wearing makeup and having to hand in his “man” badge
There were others who looked beyond trolling and condemned others for such abuse
Does it really matter if he wore makeup? What do you guys think? Is this any way to treat one of our most respected cricket legends of all time?
