Vital Signs is possibly one of the most known band, to have ever come out of Pakistan. Hailed as the pioneers of pop music, the boys completely turned around the whole music scene when they first came out. And to this date, they’re a very, very big part of every Pakistani’s playlist. With every new band that comes about, Aitebaar is one of the set songs in their playlists. Every national holiday has Dil Dil Pakistan blaring out of speakers, with people of all ages singing along to the song. And with a music survey conducted by the BBC on their 70th anniversary, it was revealed that Dil Dil Pakistan is the 3rd most famous song in the world.
After we lost Junaid Jamshed, the whole nation and an entire generation wept
We’d lost an icon, a legend, and one of the biggest stars this country has ever seen. Tributes poured in from every corner of the world. It was almost as if a whole chunk of our childhood and lives was snatched away from us.
Junaid Jamshed’s fellow band member from Vital Signs Shahi Hassan paid such a heart-wrenching tribute to him
Shahi got onto the stage at the grand finale of Pepsi Battle of the Bands, and played Namumkin. A song written by Shoaib Mansoor, composed by Vital Signs, and originally sung by Junaid Jamshed.
To nobody’s surprise, the song shook everyone emotionally, and the gaping hole in our hearts that JJ left behind was dug even further
Jo raasta bhi mila,
Woh tere hi gher ka tha…aur faasla…
There is a part of the song that goes from our hearts and Shahi’s to Junaid, himself
Sub hi namumkin, mumkin hua
Ik tere mere milan ke siwa
The ultimate breaking point for any Vital Signs fan was when the music dropped and Shahi said ‘This Is For You, Junaid’
That moment in the song made the experience all the more emotional. and gutting
The song is an emotional journey and reminiscent of the glory days of Vital Signs and Pakistani music
The days of baggy pants, puffy shirts, good music and better hair.
People couldn’t handle their emotions while listening to the song, either
Dedicated to my friend Junaid. Namumkin at #pepsibattleofthebands finale. https://t.co/LNkHvtx27A
