Clear Your Calendars, These 11 Dramas Need To Be On Your Must-Watch List This September

By Iman Zia | 11 Sep, 2018

It’s a new month, a time for new beginnings and new habits to take up…and if you’re a drama aficionado like myself, then it’s also the prime time to start scribbling away in your calendar because there’s a delicious basket of new Pakistani dramas coming straight to your doorstep. We asked our ShowSha famalam which upcoming dramas they were looking forward to the most, and compiled them all for you! So clear your calendars folks! Here are all the anticipated dramas ERRRYYBODY is going to be watching!

Dil Mom Ka Diya

This lovely little drama is already four episodes long, so hurry on and catch up! It’s an endearing story about Yasir Nawaz’s character who promises his Islamic teacher who’s on his deathbed that he’ll marry his arrogant daughter (played by Neelam Muneer). The first few episodes have been crafted magnificently and are really quite a surprise. This is one drama YOU CANNOT MISS OUT ON.

Alif

Shooting is in its initial stages, but ‘Alif’ is set to unveil itself by the end of next month so get ready. The Sajal Aly-Hamza Ali Abbasi starrer initially also had Kubra Khan, but she’s been replaced by Sanam Baloch (who will be making a comeback after a semi-hiatus from dramas). With these three fabulous faces toplining the drama, it’s bound to be a rollercoaster.

Tajdeed E Wafa

Ahmed Ali Akbar is at long last returning to television after ‘Yeh Raha Dil.’ The actor was last seen in film ‘Parchi’ and while we really missed seeing him on telly, we’re glad he branched out onto the silver screen. The promos for his new drama are out, and he’s starring opposite Ainy Jaffri (a very, VERY interesting pairing). ‘Tajdeed E Wafa’ looks really great, with esteemed Abid Ali as the father who prohibits Ahmed and Ainy’s characters from being together (from what we’ve seen in the promo).

Balaa

Another exciting return – Bilal Abbas Khan is back on-screen with his latest drama ‘Balaa’ also featuring Ushna Shah and Samina Peerzada (yay) in the leads. Ushna is basically a twisted little psychopath who wants to marry Bilal…and somehow gnaws her way into his life and subjects his mother (Samina ji) to endless torture – hence the ‘Balaa’ name. The drama is going to definitely bring out Bilal’s exquisite acting from the teasers, so we can’t wait!

Aangan

UGH can this drama just come out already? It’s been in the pipelines for the LONGEST time and we’ve honestly had enough. The pre-partition drama has garnered tremendous buzz, what with the return of Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir on-screen together once more…It also stars Ahsan Khan and Mawra Hocane and is allegedly set to release by the end of this month (or so they say)…

Lamhe

This underrated drama just started last week, so it’s not too late to catch up. It marks Shaz Khan’s second drama (after his brilliant stint on ‘Yakeen Ka Safar’ as he comes together with the beautiful Zara Noor Abbas. It’s about two people from two very different classes, and while it’s too early to tell if it’ll catch on, it’s already got an impressive storyline.

Baandi

Aiman Khan and real-life beau Muneeb Butt come together for this very dark and intense new drama ‘Baandi.’ The promos are incredibly heavy, and it’s going to bring out phenomenal acting (from Yasir Hussain too).

Deedan

Sanam Saeed is picking her projects very carefully. The actress was last seen in the Sarmad Khoosat marvel ‘Aakhri Station,’ and is now in ‘Deedan’ sporting an incredibly empowering avatar. The drama stars Mohib Mirza too and is about a woman standing up against her misogynistic husband and societal values that are quick to punish women. It’s all set to unfurl later this month, so keep this on your radar!

Near future projects have also been announced, with two in particular that we’re so excited about!

Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly’s new untitled project

Farhat Ishtiaq was answering a few questions on Twitter yesterday, when a #Sahad fan asked what she’d be working on next, to which the writer responded she’s penned a drama with Sajal and Ahad in the lead *gasp*

…And of course Suno Chanda 2!

After it was announced that a sequel to the hit show ‘Suno Chanda’ was all set in stone, people (including myself) couldn’t believe it. Well, it’s true and it’s been confirmed by Momina Duraid herrself – shooting is all set to begin later this month, so we have a lot of yummy BTS shots to look forward to.
