What Is This New App Called Sarahah And Why Are Pakistanis So Obsessed With It?

‘Sarahah’ is a new app that seems to have taken Pakistan by storm. The app quickly started trending on the App Store and now it’s also trending on desi twitter. It seems as though everyone is using it, and then tweeting about it.

 

What is ‘Sarahah’ you ask?

Created by Saudi Arabian developer Zain al-Abidin Tawfiq, the app and website is a platform where you can leave anonymous messages for people. What was once a corporate tool is now the latest internet fad for the millennials. The nature of the messages is up to you but do keep in mind that that it was created to spread positivity and leave positive feedback.

 

Most people were a little apprehensive about trying out the app: 

But then they all succumbed to the pressure, and compliments started flowing in:

While others dove right into the gossiping:

Then stuff got a little creepy and invasive:

It soon became a little mean:

Then, it went back to being SUPER creepy:

Not everyone was having a good/creepy time:

Despite everything, people were still confused about how to use it:
