Sajal Aly has been in the news a lot lately. She just gave an interview about the struggles of being at the top in the Pakistani film and TV industry.
Her accomplishments are known to all, and really, in the last 2 years, she has really soared to the top of the industry.
In her interview with a Qatari newspaper, Sajal opens up about her work and how she seems Pakistani cinema growing.
When asked about how she chooses projects to work with, she says that it’s purely based on content.
She clearly says that ‘beauty’ or ‘glam’ don’t matter to her, rather, she prefers choosing projects that push her as an actor. Clearly, she is someone who is devoted to her craft.
She was also asked about how she finds her ‘inner peace’.
Sajal opened up about how, when her mother passed away she really put all her energy into her work. She says, in the interview ‘I am a very simple person in nature; it’s just that I take my work very seriously.’ She goes on to say that her real peace is in her work. It seems to have paid off for her. After her performance in ‘Mom’, she gave her best in dramas, and it’s given us roles that we will remember forever.
Sajal also expressed how much she loved her characters from ‘Yakeen Ka Safar’ and ‘O Rungreza’.
She says her characters are strong, independent women and that it was a pleasure for her to play those roles and to depict women in that light.
The newspaper also talked to Sajal about the Bollywood ban on Pakistani actors.
Sajal found the silver lining in this. According to her, Pakistani cinema has a long way to go and this ban will help keep talent in Pakistan. Once everyone works together, the industry will be able to get prosper.
