Sajal Ali’s debut in Bollywood has been a long awaited one. With the trailers and teasers having created a lot of hype for it, people can’t wait for the film to come out. The film also stars the absolutely gorgeous Adnan Siddiqui, playing Sajal’s father, Sridevi playing the mother, Akshay Khanna seemingly as the antagonist, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a cameo (which looks more interesting than all his past roles combined, by the way).

It’s calm and beautiful, yet has an underlying discomfort about it. We don’t know whether it’s the video that has such a sense of sadness engrained within it, or just the tone of Arijit Singh’s voice in the song, but it makes our hearts sink to the bottom, every time we listen to it.

And she really seems to get across the troubled teenager vibes, in her portrayal. From when she’s in a car

The movie seems like every mother’s relationship with her daughter, in today’s day and age

Sridevi’s character is that of a mother who’s trying to get through to her daughter, and in doing that, she goes through a lot. While there’s not enough in the trailer to tell us exactly what the story is, it’s got us hooked and waiting for the film to release. With Adnan Siddiqui looking absolutely amazing, and Sajal Ali emoting just the right amount, with Sridevi playing the picture perfect mother, and the domination in Akshay Khanna’s eyes, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s newest avatar, we really really can’t wait for the movie to come out. The movie comes out on the 7th of July.
