Over the past few months, we have seen a really big increase in terms of the hate that female Pakistani celebrities have been getting for what they wear, who they pose with, how they act and behave in public. And more so on their photo shoots. We saw Sadaf Kanwal coming under fire for what she wore to the Lux Style Awards, earlier this year. Ayesha Omar getting tons of hate for a fashion shoot that she did with Asim Jofa. Hina Altaf getting bashed for a casual shoot. And Sana Bucha just for posing with cricketer Darren Sammy during the PSL.
The most recent target of these keyboard commentators has been Saba Qamar’s latest black and white shoot
In a minimal fashion shoot, we see a barefoot Saba with messy hair, a stunning two piece black ensemble set against a black background
And while on the first, second and further consecutive glances, Saba looks absolutely stunning.
But people had other things in mind, altogether
People were apparently disappointed with what she was wearing
And that her look was a qayamat ki nishaani
They were correlating actresses’ fame with the kinds of shoots that they do
That for some reason, in logoun ka zameer mar gaya hai
There were those calling for secularization of Pakistan because of this shoot
They said that this shoot was just a way for Saba to get fame and she doesn’t need to because her acting is enough
That she is tarnishing her own image by going for such a shoot
They were calling out on the publication that initially put up the image, calling Saba ‘too hot to handle’
There was this comment
And for some reason, people were calling for the government to take action against Saba
That shoots like these take place because the government doesn’t put any checks and balances in place
There were people feeling sorry for her family
And this was there, too
Wait, what?
There were the obvious jahannum comments
Her belly button also had to face the brunt for it
Why are we dragging animals into this, y’all?
Okay then…
People were clearly not happy with the kind of clothes Saba was wearing
People were really not ‘handling’ this too well
People were cancelling Saba on the basis of this shoot
…
And of course, there were those who were justifying harassment…
We’re not gonna say anything, but we really want to hear what you guys have to say about this. Let us know in the comments below!
