A year later, and some actresses can’t seem to really move on. A comical rap was performed by actors Mahira Khan and Osman Khalid Butt at the LSAs last year as part of an act, whereby at one point Mahira referenced that some of her contemporaries claimed she couldn’t act, at which she brought up how her Bollywood debut ‘Raees’ raked in 100 crores (indirectly).
A year later, and actress Saba Qamar brought up that particular reference on her Instagram account, after her film ‘Hindi Medium’ beat ‘Raees’ at this year’s box office
Saba brought up the lyric from the rap, ‘kya aap ki filmein bhi hein 100 crore kamati’
…And responded with ‘yes,’ ending the petty statement with ‘I don’t like insulting jokes.’
…I mean come on Saba, really?
Mahira was literally joking, calm down
Osman Khalid Butt responded to Saba’s rather immature comment in the utmost honorable manner, even trying to directly confront the actress during their ‘Baaghi’ shoot
He stated that he wrote the ‘rap-battle segment’ and took ‘full responsibility for the joke.’ He clarified the rap wasn’t aimed at any particular actress, nor was it meant to intend any harm.
Here is his full statement on Instagram, and ended on a gallant note – by congratulating Saba Qamar on ‘Hindi Medium’s’ performance and making Pakistan proud
What a gracious man indeed!
Here’s the full rap
