Usually pizza deliveries revolve around ordering on the phone/internet and getting it delivered to your home in a box. That’s how its been done all over the world and Pakistan is no different. However, an Italian pizzeria is challenging traditional delivery with their new initiative. Il Posto on Shahbaz Commercial in Defence has recently started a new kind of delivery service for their pizzas.

The pizza comes in rickshaws with the bakers from the restaurant making it right in front of you.
Zubair, from Il Posto, claims they have been quite busy since the video by Girl Gotta Eat was posted. Zubair explains the concept, “Our pizzas are not your regular industry kind. Ours are thin crust and the authentic Italian kind. Each pizza is enough for one person. No one else is doing pizza the way we are, and this new spin on delivery is attracting customers. Pizza isn’t supposed to be delivered in a box so we bake it in front of you when you order from us.”
According to Zubair, the minimum pizzas to order are seven to avail this service. They are using a fully restored Piaggo, an Italian rickshaw, to deliver the pizza to you in a way you never expected. They just have two of these for delivery at the moment.
This could be a game changer in the pizza delivery scene in Pakistan
Most of us would prefer our pizzas prepared already before the delivery guy brings it to our door. We also may not have the time or space for Il Posto staff to prepare our pizzas in front of us. But you can’t deny that it’s a novel concept and considering its early reception, the novelty is expected to last for some time.
Only true authentic pizza lovers would enjoy this and if it’s successful, it may spur other pizza outlets to start something similar.
