Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and yeah, yeah I know our society looks down on the concept of “public displays of affection” but the damn day only comes once a year. Either you can go hella big this year for your wife or simply go home to ammi and abbu.
Luckily, we’ve got your back. Here’s what you can possibly get for your boo:
1. The traditional chocolate/flower combo
You can never go wrong with this one, it’s a given.
2. Plan a date-night
From her outfit to the movie you’ll be watching at the end of the night, plan it from start to end to show her you care.
3. Plan a mini vacation
If you want to make it a little more special, plan a few days away – just the two of you and no one else.
4. Khana bhanao aur bartan saaf karo
Give her a day off and do her normal work for a change, you’ll learn to appreciate her a lot more.
5. Compile a bunch of meaningful songs
Select some songs that remind you of her and songs that express your love for her. It’s pretty cute.
6. Give her endless compliments
Make this more of a habit rather than a one-day thing. But also do it on V-day. I’d pair this with something else off the list, though. Sirf yeh dena is a little risky.
7. A promise ring
Most women love a nice piece of jewelry and they love it even more if there is a meaning behind it. If y’all are still dating, let her know you plan on shaadi-ing her.
8. Warm up her clothes in the morning
There’s no feeling like slipping into some warm clothes in the coldness of the morning. But again, pair this up with something. This is like bare minimum stuff anyway.
9. Agree to do the things she loves but you can’t stand
Trust me, she’ll appreciate the effort. Give her free reign of the day. Watch that sappy drama she loves that you can’t stand. Eat that dish she craves every other day that you could go without for a LONG time.
10. PDA
Hold onto your horses, I know that kind of PDA might have you arrested in Pakistan whether you are married or not, but there is no harm in telling the world how much you love her with a simple post.
Just think: a cute picture of you two paired with deep, meaningful words – it’ll make her day.
11. Heart-shaped pizza
I haven’t met a single person that doesn’t like pizza.. Put in a request for one on Valentine’s Day.
12. Make a picture of her’s your wallpaper on your phone
If that doesn’t show love, I’m not sure what does…
Also, if you’re not already doing this from time to time, pathar ke bane ho kya?
13. Write her a heartfelt letter
Tell her exactly how you feel about her and say all of the things you are afraid to say on any other day, because she deserves to know what she means to you.
14. Can’t go wrong with cake
Listen – everyone loves cake, okay? But let’s say you’re with someone who doesn’t. Swap it out with any other dessert.
15. Book a trip to the spa for her
EVERYONE loves the spa. It’s like a vacation for your body. And go all out. Matlab, mani, pedi, massage – the works. She’ll LOVE it.
16. That one item she’s been eyeing for a while? Yeah, get that.
Has she been yearning for some dress she saw online? Maybe she wants a new phone and the slightly expensive, yet totally stylish new phone that came out recently is what she has her eyes on. Whatever it is, give her what she wants. Be nice.
17. If you’ve REALLY messed up and have nothing else in mind, Netflix and chill karlo, but amp it up
So your lazy ass managed to do NOTHING. Firstly, sharam karo. Secondly, if all else fails, set up a scene ghar pe hee. Order in, decorate the room a bit with fairy lights, have her favorite shows/movies lined up on Netflix and don’t hesitate in offering to massage her legs or something while you’re at it.
Let us know which gift you plan on going with. Good luck!
