Google is clearly in the Endgame spirit!
Now that Endgame has been officially released all over the world, the hype is at its peak. And Google, of course, took the opportunity and curiosity surrounding the film to give fans a really great surprise.
Before we dive into this post: There are NO SPOILERS in here so you’re welcome.
Now, let’s talk about the INSANELY COOL tribute by Google to Avengers: Endgame
If you Google ‘Thanos’, you see the Infinity Gauntlet on the screen next to a picture of Thanos.
When you click the Infinity Gauntlet, the magic happens. Literally.
Slowly half of the search results start to disappear on the page, just like characters died in the last Avengers Infinity War. The search results appear to be turning into dust and floating away. LISTEN, THE TRICK IS JUST MAD COOL, OKAY?!
This is what it looks like on the mobile version:
The page scrolls up and down on its own. The search results, in the end, reduce from 90 million to 45 million; basically, half the search results have disappeared.
Again, a nod to Avengers Infinity War where, in the end, as Thanos snaps his fingers, half of the world’s population just ~disappears~ or dies. Whatever you want to believe.
Let’s see if Avengers: Endgame has any more clarity on where everyone went. I have yet to see the film, so I have no idea.
You can watch the cool trick in this video I recorded on my phone, below. But honestly, I would recommend that you do the trick yourself on your laptop for the best experience!
