Here's Why This Interesting New Drama About Child Marriages Should Be On Your ‘Must Watch' List

After the success of pivotal drama ‘Baaghi,’ starring the vivacious Saba Qamar, and loosely based on the life of contentious social media star Qandeel Baloch, Urdu 1 seem to be on quite the roll. The channel just announced a new drama, ‘Mujhay Jeenay Doh’ and it looks nothing short of television in its purest, most raw form. The ensemble cast holds Sarmad Khoosat, Nadia Jamil, Hania Aamir, and Gohar Rasheed, who tell the tale of a child marriage that rips a small village apart.

Mujhay Jeenay Doh’ is the story of a young girl, barely 10 years old who is forced into an arranged marriage

When the time of “qabool hai” comes up, she boldly responds “nahi, mein shaadi nahi karongi.” It’s heartbreaking and endearing at the same time.

Gohar Rasheed is unarguably one of the greatest actors in the fraternity, and his delivery in this drama will be spectacular

His character is married to four different women, and how his life unfolds with all four will be enticing to watch.

Hania Aamir is stripped of her bubblegum persona onscreen and dips her toes in a character which is a far cry from any we’ve seen her as before

Her character is one of the wives of Gohar’s character, and through the promos, we’re given the slight speculation that she just might be the elder version of the young girl who was forcibly married off.

Nadia Jamil is splendidly back and is seen fighting for the rights of the young girl who has been treated like carcass

Her character is helpless, in an incredibly chauvinistic pocket of rural life, where men are abusive, dominating and incredibly belittling. She vows to protect the young girl until her dying breath and bears the brunt of such a decision when at one point we see her threatened by her husband.
