Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been in the news for many reasons. Whether or not he liked those reasons is debatable, but he’s been making headlines for sure.

Nawaz Sharif currently has the infamous Panamagate investigation going on, against him and his family, the outcome of which is yet to be decided. There are various political parties who are forming coalitions to ask him to step down from his position as Prime Minister of the country. He’s in the line of fire for his policies. And there is general unrest in the country.

He’s also handling additional duties of the foreign minister for the current government, and, because of that, he needs to travel a lot. Like a lot a lot. And his travels have now taken him to Maldives.

Now, Maldives has a military coup taking place with armed forces evacuating the Parliament and offices of government. Maldives has been in the middle of political unrest since 2012, when its first democratically elected president, Mohamed Nasheed was ousted.

So, naturally, when the Prime Minister of Pakistan, in the middle of all of this decided to visit Maldives to celebrate their Independence Day as the Chief Guest, people were very..VERY confused

However, now that he is there, with Mrs. Kulsum Nawaz, we know pretty much what they’re up to
