Hate crime has reportedly increased against Muslim communities across Manchester, after the devastating attack that took place on the 22nd of May. Despite the rise of reported hate, the Manchester community has come together, with various crowdfunding campaigns, protests and funds by various Muslim organisations that have raised awareness and funds for the victims and their families.

And now a Muslim man asking for hugs on the streets of Manchester has gone viral.
22 year old Baktash Noori from Manchester stood blindfolded and offered free hugs days after the suicide attack that killed 22 people at an Adriana Grande concert.
He spoke to AJ+ and said, “there are always going to be a couple of idiots, anomalies, I guess you could call them, and because of their actions I don’t want us as a community, as a religion or a race to be judged incorrectly.”
“Not a single person said anything negative to me so that was the best feeling ever.”

His cardboard sign reads “I’m Muslim and I trust you. Do you trust me enough for a hug?”
And here’s the reaction he’s been getting from people
He’s known as The Life of Bako on social media, and his video was welcomed with warm comments.
It gave many hope for a better future…
And fellow residents of Manchester also commented.
Here’s hoping such acts are what this Ramazan becomes all about. Live and love, people. Live and love.
