Mikaal Zulfiqar and Armeena are starring in a film together. When we first heard about it, we were actually quite excited because OMG Armeena’s third and Mikaal’s first film coming out.
But…things weren’t quite the same way when we saw the teaser
The teaser left us feeling a little confused as to how to feel about it. The constant flashing of images only reminds us of past movies the likes of ‘Yalghaar’, ‘Waar’ and ‘O21’. And, honestly, we just feel like the audience is over military films unless they’re done to perfection. Director Azfar Jafri has only recently delivered ‘Parchi’ which has been faring well at the box office. His directorial venture from last year ‘Janaan’ was the highest grossing film at the box office, which gives us hope for this film as well. However, after watching the teaser, we’re not fully convinced.
The teaser is basically a montage of stills from the film, itself
The reason we have mixed feelings about this teaser is because of how past military films haven’t done really well in our industry. That just goes to show that unless a film about the armed forces is done to perfection, it won’t get the audiences engaged.
Where Armeena and Mikaal both play Air Force officers
We thought we’d have learnt by now that movies about the armed forces, unless done brilliantly (which hasn’t been the case, thus far), will not work
The fonts, the treatment of the teaser, and back and forth in the teaser just looks a little amateur, on the whole. And that’s not something we’d expect from a film that is being directed by Azfar Jafri and stars some of our industry’s biggest.
While the film promises to deliver Love, Comedy and Action, it’s the ending animation that absolutely takes the cake
We’re not saying anything about the movie itself before we actually get to watch the film, itself
People, however, seem to absolutely love the trailer
Plans have already been made to go watch the film
People were full of pride for their country
And some were confusing two movies coming out
People were blaming the audience for movies not doing well at the box office
Masterpiece after masterpiece
And people were asking for more people to be added to the film
People were wishing her luck
And couldn’t breathe while doing so
Some people couldn’t help but pour out the love they have for their country
Jokes made their way through
Except for this guy
Like we said before, we’re not assuming anything about the film before it actually comes out. We love and support Pakistani cinema with all our hearts and want our industry to progress.
