The hugely anticipated fight between Conor McGregor and the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov was the past weekend.
The event was possibly one of the most talked about UFC fights to date because of the fact that this was Conor McGregor’s return to the ring after two years and everything that happened afterwards was equally crazy.
While Khabib won the fight due to Conor’s submission his victory is still a little murky as the UFC deliberates whether he will get the title or not. The president of the UFC, Dana White was very upset with the entire fiasco which followed the fight. And apparently, they’re still deliberating on what the next step will be.
The issue arose when Khabib jumped out of the octagon and attacked certain members from McGregor’s team. And then a few of Khabib’s teammates stormed the ring and attacked McGregor.
This caused a HUGE mess since officials had to be involved to break off fights. But even after all of this, Muslims were on Khabib’s side and were incredibly happy at whatever had happened.
Later on, Khabib held a press conference and explained the reasons behind his actions.
He talked about how Conor McGregor had taken smack talk to another level. He talked about how McGregor had attacked a bus in Boston he and other fighters were in causing serious damage to property and person. However, since McGregor had pleaded guilty to the charges he avoided jail time.
Apart from that, Khabib mentioned how McGregor had been disrespectful about Khabib’s religion, his family and beliefs from the very beginning and clearly, Khabib had had enough. McGregor was using Islamophobia against Khabib and thought he could probably get away with the treatment he was doling out to his competitor.
While everyone was outraged and chastized Khabib for his actions, Muslims around the world were super pumped and PROUD of Khabib for what he did.
#Khabib is hero ❤️👍

I mean, Khabib grew up fighting ACTUAL BEARS.
I’m not the biggest UFC fan but when I saw this video of 9 year old Khabib training with a bear, I knew McGregor was in trouble pic.twitter.com/zvmPpgwK5g

And of course, the memes came rolling right in.

And since Drake was present when Khabib jumped McGregor’s corner, and is a HUGE McGregor fanboy, people were savage in terms of memes.
asalaamu alaikum Khabib

Clearly, people had a great time making Drake and Khabib memes. And even if it doesn’t work out and Khabib has to fight a rematch as McGregor has tweeted about, he has still made Muslims around the world incredibly happy with how he retaliated all the crap McGregor had been giving him leading up to the fight.
So Khabib is a hero in the eyes of millions no matter what the official outcome is.
