Mawra Hocane has 3.9 million followers on Instagram, at 26 years old is already one of the highest paid actresses in Pakistan, and just recently attained her LLB degree from the University of London – it begs the question, what is it that Mawra can’t do?
Mawra’s breaking stereotypes everyday where in interviews or when she’s showering love and affection about her fellow contemporaries like candy confetti.
She recently spoke to OK! Pakistan, and proved she’s crumbling down clichés about women within the industry, as she dished about hailing from a star-studded family, her busy 2019 schedule and how she’s determined to spread love wherever she goes.

Mawra’s hashtag about life is #LoveIsTheAnswer and is vowed to preach this motto wherever she goes.
The actress said that she “encourages everyone around [her] to be kind” when asked about how she handles herself on social media, even when faced with difficult snags. She always “trie[s] to emphasize on the importance of being compassionate and how the world needs it.”
The actress denounced sensationalization, saying “negative news spreads like wildfire.”
She mentioned how love is often trumped by how media in Pakistan tends to focus on trolls instead and glorify them; “If it wasn’t for the publications and magazines glorifying that one troll out of thousands” who wrote positive comments, then “it wouldn’t be such a big deal.” The actress/lawyer stressed that there is a fine line between trolling and criticism, and it’s this line that we, unfortunately, walk very profoundly on.
Mawra, Urwa, and Farhan are a tight bunch, and they’re always supporting each other.
Her love for her star siblings is heartwarming; she gushed about how blessed she is to have them “unconditionally and forever.” She’s always getting advice from them and said that “being with each other helps [them] stay grounded and extremely happy.”
Mawra was asked about her relationship with her contemporaries, and if she ever felt hindrances working with them.
She said it wasn’t difficult working with Kubra Khan or Sarwat Gillani in ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2’ because “[they] are all evolved and mature enough to coexist.” She said that gossip is what we all love to indulge in (true), and “pitting actors against each other” is the norm. Mawra revealed that she loves it when “a fellow actor does well for it would benefit the industry [she calls] home.”
In a quick rapid fire round, Mawra confessed that her biggest fear was “to disappoint my loved ones or my fans.”
The actress’s must-have app on her phone is Imran Khan’s Pakistan Citizen Portal, and her favorite go-to site for news was Twitter. The last book she read was ‘The Ministry Of Utmost Happiness,’ and her favorite fictional character was from ‘Forty Rules Of Love.’ Her personal motto is “Be kind and have courage,” and her favorite restaurants in Pakistan are Jessie’s and Gaia! Mawra’s upcoming projects include a fresh pairing on-screen for a yet to be disclosed Hum TV project; “I’ll leave it to the makers to announce [the fresh pairing].”
