“jab duniya mein koi saath nahi hota tab shayyad Allah hi saath hota hai”
Mathira has always shied away from interviews and has remained far from the spotlight from her days as a host and acting. The actress was invited onto the good morning show ‘Subh Saverey Samaa Kay Saath’ where she revealed intimate details about her life, from her heartbreaking divorce to her depression.
Mathira was asked about her definition of love as the interview began, to which she said “muhabbat insaan se karo, unke waqt se na karo”
She said that people change over time, and grow distant, implying that’s what happened to her husband of six years. She further stated how couples who glamorize their love are never bound to have a happy ending, compared with those who keep their relationships more private. To this, Mathira responded and said many might think she’s old fashioned.
The most heartbreaking revelation Mathira made was how she had a miscarriage during her marriage
As she broke down, she talked about how she was four months pregnant before she lost her first born. Mathira divorced her husband earlier this year, citing irreconcilable differences, in particular, the fact that he no longer loved her. She once bought him flowers to which he cut up in front of her.
When asked about her ex-husband, she cleared the air and said she was definitely over him, but would always be there for him if he ever needed her
Sanam asked Mathira if she’s ever been in love to which she indirectly mentioned that she was still in love with her ex. She believes in unconditional love no matter how her ex-husband might feel about her. Sanam asked Mathira when she realized he no longer loved her, to which she said they just grew apart.
She asserted how she has no regrets and is a changed person post her divorce – she’s happy because her ex-husband gave her a “beautiful baby”
Mathira clearly said she would never be able to hate him because he gave her the greatest gift she could ever have hoped for – her son Aahil Rizvi.
Mathira revealed she suffered from depression after her miscarriage, her failed marriage, and public divorce
She grew up in a broken home and began crying in pain after telling Sanam she wished her son wouldn’t have to suffer the same consequences. She said despite it all, she still believes in love and is the happiest she’s ever been.
