Lahoris! Here Is Your Unofficial Guide To All The Exhibitions Displayed At The Lahore Biennale 2018

Lahore Biennale officially kicked off this weekend and friends, the city has never looked more beautiful.

With the inaugural opening at the Lahore Fort,

To the magical Qawali of Ali Sethi and Ustaad Naseeruddin Saami and his sons, in the courtyard of the Wazir Khan Mosque.

The event has already attracted hundreds of people to come and enjoy the unique displays all over the city. And with that being said, navigating the displays of the festival can be a little confusing.

Which is WHY we thought we would make it easy for you and make an unofficial guide for all ya’ll lovely folks.

So here we have map number 1. These are all the locations in Lahore that are displaying completely free, completely public works of art until the 31st of March.

So, let’s travel through the Canal, shall we?

LOCATION NUMBER 1: The Lahore Fort ~

The Lahore Fort is currently displaying a number of select artists’ art inside its walls. HOW AMAZING IS THAT!? Oh, and when we say a ‘number,’ we mean QUITE a few. Check them out from 10 AM to 5 PM every day!

DEF a must-see.

LOCATION NUMBER 2:  Mubarak Haveli ~

The Mubarak Haveli, one of Lahore’s most beautiful spots, is being used by the Lahore Biennale foundation to display artwork by a number of students of the Naqsh School of Arts. The historical beauty of the Haveli is an absolutely beautiful place to visit for the exhibition inside as well as to appreciate its own grandeur.

LOCATION NUMBER 3: Shahi Hammam ~

Presenting the art of Aisha Khalid, Imran Qureshi, and Manisha Gera Baswani,  the Hammam is displaying art in an absolutely beautiful and unique way. This is not something Lahoris are going to want to miss. From 9 AM to 5 PM.

LOCATION NUMBER 4: Lahore Museum ~

One of the most historical spots in Lahore, the museum is being used to display artwork by some of the most talented artists. You’ll be witnessing the museum like never before, friends. Check it out from 9 AM to 4 PM.

LOCATION NUMBER 5: Alhamra Art Center ~

Doing what it does best, the Alhamra Art Center will be hosting the art of a NUMBER of incredible artists, every day from 10 AM to 6 PM.

LOCATION NUMBER 6: Bagh-e-Jinnah ~

You may have been seeing Insta posts all over your feed featuring Bagh-e-Jinnah. This is probably one of the coolest spots of LB01 and you can check it out for yourself from 9 AM to 4 PM.

LOCATION NUMBER 7: The Canal ~

Make sure to check out the Mall road intersection on the Canal for an incredible light installation, done by the Awami Art Collective.

OH, AND FRIENDS, apart from this, the Fakir Khana Museum will also be housing an exhibition titled, ‘I, too am a part of this history,’ – a collateral event of LB01.
