Let’s rewind a little before we dive into the trailer. Last month a teaser for the movie was released. Here’s a quick summary of the 30 second clip:
Saba Qamar is walking close to a wall with her arm behind her, scraping the wall. Probably meant to look ‘hot’ but it wasn’t. Then Yasir Hussain runs after her (although the camera angle suggests otherwise). After which they both run in large fields and jump infront of a water pump, and get wet. *rolls eyes*
Since the teaser was pretty meh, I wasn’t expecting much from the trailer, but I was proven wrong.
Cinematography-wise, this trailer is up there on the WOW-factor
One of my favorite shots was of Food Street in Lahore. The road is all wet (dammit) and the colors are just popping. Just ignore the guy being run over.
As the title of the movie suggests they also so Lahore se Aagay
We get to see some truly gorgeous shots of the north of Pakistan. Wanderlust peaks after watching this trailer, so watch at your own risk.
Then all of a sudden Rubina Ashraf (the cop of 90’s and current mommy of Pakistani TV) shows up, and she’s pretty badass.
Dat eyebrow raise tho!
But then stuff gets confusing AF
Lahore se kaafi aagay nikal gaye. This part of the trailer actually makes me want to watch the movie, because I really want to find out what the filmmakers were smoking when they came up with this.
Atiqa Odho also makes another badass appearance
Atiqa Odho is slaying it with her sari, crazy heavy jewelry and lady guards. You go, girl!!
However Odho goes full sassy when she plays this amazing pun off the Humsafar Song
When asked where her husband was, she replies:
Waise tou woh Doctor Tha
Magar Uss Ke Paas Duwaa Na Thi
And they had to show it was a desi love story, toward the end
First, the two main characters are totally in love, hugging and unrealistically obsessed with one another. Then all of a sudden they’re both crying and running teary-eyed towards some random direction.
And that’s all I thought of about the trailer, if it looks pretty random it’s thanks to how random the trailer was.
