While most of us are still reeling in the spectacular ICC Battle Royale where the men’s cricket team triumphantly destroyed India, our girls in green weren’t dusted with the same luck. Sunday beheld a destructive loss where the women’s Indian team bubbled a win by scoring 95 more runs. It was an unfortunate match, however, there is a glorious moment that has unveiled that will surely hit home. Pakistani cricketer Kainat Imtiaz posted a honeyed confession on Instagram about how she ultimately came to be a cricketer.
In the post, Pakistan’s fast bowler Kainat Imtiaz was sprung with gratitude for being able to meet her icon, Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami during the Sunday showdown.
A wonderstruck Kainat Instagrammed a heartfelt story, briefly describing her cause for aspiring to become a cricketer. Kainat was a ball picker during the 2005 Asian Cup held in Pakistan and relished watching Indian fast bowler prodigy, Jhulan Goswami lead her team to victory. It was a moment of clarity for Kainat, who pined to emulate Jhulan. 12 years passed, and Kainat met her idol on the pitch on Sunday, and the chaffed defeat didn’t deter Kainat who was in complete awe.
Kainat tweeted the aspiring story too and it was warmly embraced by many
