Imran Khan talked about how he himself would have been a retired army officer today had he not pursued cricket back in the day.
He spoke addressed the entire country eloquently and delivered his entire speech extempore. And everyone was thoroughly impressed.

One doesn’t expect much from speeches at commemorative events such as Defence Day. But must say impressed with Imran Khan’s speech. Clear and cohesive despite it being entirely extempore and, more importantly, brought in the alternative perspective to ‘security’. So, well done.

The fact that Imran Khan remembered dates, events and focus points without a written speech in front of him is pretty amazing, to be honest.
Imran Khan touched upon quite a few issues in his speech. But his main focus, of course, was on the armed forces.
"General Bajwa, I congratulate you for this ceremony & want to tell everyone, that the civil military rift is a myth, its nothing like that, we all have one goal: Greater Pakistan. The way this army has brought us out of the terrorism is commendable"
