An insane fatwa is nothing but a reflection of the fact that there are idiots out there looking to twist religious scripture and laws to their whim. Not only do such people give bad rap to religion, they create havoc and unrest among people generally skeptical of Islam. Such insane fatwas just give Islamophobes ammo to go batshit crazy with their theories about Islam being a religion that allows crazy things to happen.
Now, we don’t have any dearth of insane fatwas here, what with preachers from all corners of the world coming out with proclamations based on their limited understanding of the world and religion. This new fatwa is just one such addition to all the crazy.
We’ve had some crazy religious preachers issue fatwas that allow husbands to get high before sex if their wives are “ugly”
First of all, how the heck does on determine someone is beautiful or ugly? Beauty is subjective, hence the popular phrase, “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”.
Secondly, if you have to get high to have sex, there are some very deep rooted issues happening within your teeny tiny brain, brother.

In the latest of insane fatwas, comes this Egyptian preacher’s fatwa that has proclaimed incest to be legal, allowing fathers to marry their daughters
Yes, let that sink in.
A prominent Egyptian Salafist cleric, Mazen Al-Sersawi, cited the famous Muslim scholar Imam Al-Shafi’i and said that it’s actually okay for a man to marry his illegitimate daughter.

Al-Sersawi teaches at the famed Sunni affiliated Egyptian university, Al-Azhar University.
The video, which is from 2012, recently resurfaced online and has caused quite an uproar. In the video, Al-Sersawi explained that if a man has extramarital intercourse with a woman and impregnates her, he is allowed to marry his illegitimate daughter because, according to his explanation, the girl is “not really his daughter” since she is the result of adultery.
