Hina Altaf Just Broke Down After Revealing Shocking Details About Being Abused By Her Own Mother

By Iman Zia | 14 Sep, 2018

Hina Altaf revealed harrowing details of her life during an interview with Samina Peerzada. The actress raised eyebrows a few months ago on Mother’s Day when she posted a message suggesting that her mother did not deserve to be the recipient of praise – and while her fans questioned what she meant, she remained hushed about her cryptic past.

When everyone in this world shares their picture with their mothers … I share my wrist … showing off the name of the man who supported me in every possible way any blood relation would … HAPPY MOTHERS DAY !!! To the person who hugged me even in my darkest times with my darkest flaws… I LOVE YOU … How proud I am to have this man in my life … more then a mother greater then a father … HERO FOR ME!!! #ALAM ❤️

It was only recently on Samina Peerzada’s show ‘Rewind With Samina’ where the actress decided to open up and share harrowing details about her turbulent childhood

Her mother would often call the actress a “prostitute”

She revealed how her mother was very unsupportive of Hina getting a job, and would often call her a “prostitute,” simply for wishing to gain financial independence and integrate herself into society. She said she was often beaten by her mother and was left with bruises, cuts, and injuries as a result.

Hina would lie about where she got her bruises and injuries from

Hina then said how she had to go to shoots in between the unwavering domestic abuse, where her makeup team would often ask her how she got the bruises. She’d never respond because she wouldn’t know what to say and would lie, at one point blaming careless ironing. Hina would often be too afraid to sleep most nights because she lived in constant fear of abuse – she was a young teenager, around 15/16.

Hina was 21 when she left home

The actress wanted to be career orientated but was not given the chance by both her parents to feel a sense of independence. She was discouraged from leaving the house and from pursuing a career, to which she had had enough of by the time she turned 21. She faced severe depression as a teenager as a result of domestic abuse.

Who is Alam?

The man tattooed on her arm is a doctor, who took her out of depression and stress, referencing the obscure picture she posted on Mother’s Day. The actress ended the interview by describing how she’s “been through so much in life” and this is what has made her stronger.
