We’re all well aware that our in-house analyst, Hamza Ali Abbasi, has lots of opinions – opinions that he does not confine to the limits of his mind

These opinions either resonate well with his fan following or land him in hot water.

Either way, our man Hamza doesn’t care. He says it like it is, regardless of the backlash he may face. Therefore, it didn’t come as a surprise when he had an opinion on Wonder Woman as well.

He put forward certain facts about Gal Gadot, the woman playing Wonder Woman in the movie. She is known to be former Israeli soldier who harbors pro-Zionist sentiments. In his Facebook post, he went on to question how the audience would have stomached the movie, had the lead role been played by a supporter of the Nazi ideology. Unsurprisingly, his post sparked a debate among Pakistanis as well.

Some lauded Hamza Ali Abbasi for speaking out

And supported his stance

They believed the point he raised was valid

There were some who didn’t feel the same way

And some highlighted a certain level of hypocrisy that may exist within our society

Others pointed out how one could simply choose to not watch the movie

However, there were some who had very different concerns

They seemed to dislike Gal for reasons that had nothing to do with her pro-Israeli stance

Some people just seemed confused

At the end of the day, though, some people proved that tharak trumps all else

They just couldn’t bring themselves to agree with Hamza bhai…

…But for totally different reasons
