Bloody brilliant. That’s honestly all I can say for the first eipsode of ‘Ghar Titli Ka Par. Oh, and Sanam Chauhdry’s character Anji who is the most ruthless, grade A bitch since Sara from ‘Humsfar.’ It’s only been two episodes, but Sanam’s already got us touting her as television’s most villainous antagonist in contemporary drama. Also starring Aiman Khan and Shehzad Sheikh, this drama has great, great potential.
*warning spoilers*
‘Ghar Titli Ka Par’ revolves around two best friends, Shafaq (Aiman) and Anji who are poles apart
The episode opens with Anji, the most conniving antagonist in recent times. She’s ruthless, unkind and incredibly vindictive. We see her mock her sisters and mother, and neglect the fact that they live in tight times and cannot afford to be frivolous with the little earnings they have – Anji on the other hand is someone who only looks out for herself.
Shafaq hails from a richer background, and is both simple and sweet – something the menacing Anji immediately takes advantage of
She is very close to her brother, who in turn is very protective of his younger sister. Anji quickly decides to pursue Shafaq’s brother as she unravels more information about Shafaq’s various ‘endowments;’ one thing is made clear – Shafaq is incredibly well off, and Anji sees a prey ready for the kill.
Anji wants money, power and glory – and already uses everyone as a stepping stone to becoming queen
The world revolves around her. At one point, her loving sister’s rishta comes over and Anji causes a brawl after taking her sister’s place out of spite and what she sees as ‘fun.’ Anji does not consider her family members her own, and it’s evident that Shafaq is quickly becoming her next target to ruthlessly rip apart.
While Shehzad Sheikh’s character has only just been unveiled, we’re already anticipating what will happen as a fiery love triangle forms
While the promos of the drama have relayed that he will marry Shafaq and that Anji will set her eyes on him, how this tremendous dynamic unfolds is something we’re really anticipating!
A rousing applaud is due for Sanam, who has already stolen the crown with her effervescent acting just two episodes in
Sanam is a diamond in our industry, and playing a crafty, devious and scheming antagonist can’t be easy. Yet she shines from the moment she’s unveiled as Anji, and honestly it’s becoming a precariously hate-to-love-her situation.
