Ramazan is here folks, in all it’s might. Which basically means the you have to bear with all sorts of tests. Thirst and hunger and the godawful garmi on top of lack of sleep is something you can still deal with but throw in power outage in the mix? NOPE, not having it. But, sigh. Our friends, foes and family in Karachi, bless their heart, had to handle all of that.
With today being the first official sehri of Ramazan, lots of people were just PISSED.
First sehri with abuses to KE.

While the rest of us were busy filling our bellies with chai parathas, lassi, anday and all sorts of sehri essentials in the comfort of our homes:
What did you have for sehri?

People in Karachi were dealing with some VERY testing times.
Some were rudely awoken.
Blessed are those who have a generator to begin with. Sigh.
Here’s that one time when a candlelight situation is definitely not appreciated.
People were not impressed with K Electric’s poor choice of hours for “maintenance”
After every 2 days there was a maintenance shut down for THIS day? @KElectricPk #ShameOnKElectric
We are never ready!!

But turns out, this ‘phenomenon’ is not one-off. In fact, poor Karachiites are being treated this way third year in a row.
Many were upset about this happening on the FIRST SEHRI of Ramazan 2017.
The power outage was unannounced which seems to be the norm with K-electric.
Seriously, K-Electric?
The official representatives of K-electric issued a statement deeming the outage due to a “technical fault”
However, the magnitude of this blackout was far and wide covering 60% of the city.
We feel for you, our fellow brothers and sisters.
To those who were fasting and those who weren’t, regardless, this was an inconvenience of epic proportions. Here’s to hoping this pattern doesn’t continue throughout the month. There are far too many trials as it is. As for today, hang in there folks.
