Pakistan, along with 51 other countries, was chosen to host a special showcasing of the FIFA World Cup trophy made possible by Coca-Cola. Which is a big deal because this is happening for the very first time!
Of course, the football fans finally had a chance to rejoice.
The trophy arrived in a chartered jet from Thailand to Pakistan along with celebrities and sports players.
Younis Khan, Quratulain Baloch, Momina Mustehsan, Maya Ali, Zainab Abbas and former French World Cup winner Christian Karembeu, to name a few.
The trophy was unveiled at the Coke Fest in Lahore by Christian Karembeu.

“I am extremely happy to be here in Lahore. Pakistan also has football-loving folks. It is a great honor for Pakistan that the FIFA trophy is here for the first time. We can make our future better through football. I am here in Pakistan to prove that football unites the world”, Karembeu stated.
Younis Khan, who was also accompanying the trophy to Pakistan expressed his joy as well.
“For me, football is one of the most popular sports in the world, it is a really big deal that the FIFA trophy is here.” Younis is a proud football fan and said that he was “honored” to be part of the festivities bringing the World Cup trophy to Pakistan on its world tour.
Joining the squad was also the super talented Hajra Khan, Pakistan’s first footballer amongst men and women to be signed by an international club.

We’re definitely hopeful about the future of Football.
Not bad for a country that has never won a single world cup qualifying match. Time to change that in 2019. #FIFAWorldCuptrophy #FootballWithCocaCola pic.twitter.com/dAZhgNXTN6
