Fawad Khan has had a stellar career, with a bundle of Pakistani dramas, films along with critically acclaimed performances in Bollywood. His role in ‘Khoobsurat’ opposite Sonam Kapoor garnered him tremendous recognition, followed by Dharma Productions’ ‘Kapoor & Sons’ with Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra. He became the most sought-after actor in Indian cinema at one point, with Karan Johar an ardent fan who then cast him in the film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.’ However, after various Indian-Pakistani disputes, Pakistani actors were unofficially banned from appearing in Bollywood films.
Acclaimed Indian author and producer, Pankaj Dubey has expressed interest in casting Fawad Khan opposite Alia Bhatt and Sushant Singh Rajput
Pankaj told Indian news publication ‘IANS’ that he wishes to cast the trio in a film adaptation of his latest novel, ‘Love Curry,‘ and further stated, “I have already started scripting the film and thinking about the casting. As the story is mainly about three boys from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, I want to cast Sushant, Fawad for the two of them.”
‘Love Curry’ is about the trials and tribulations of South Asians who live abroad, and is about a journey of self-discovery
He told IANS, “at the same time, I do not want to treat the issue with so much seriousness, rather wanted to focus on how these three guys, who are otherwise fighting against each other as Indian and Pakistani unite as one in a western country.”
If confirmed, the film will mark the return of Alia and Fawad appearing on-screen together, after the success of ‘Kapoor & Sons’
The potential project will also bring together Fawad and actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who is already flourishing in Bollywood
What do you think about Fawad’s comeback in Bollywood? We hope it’s true!
