Fawad Chaudhry sahab ne smog ki zimmedari India pe daal di
In case you aren’t from Lahore or are living under a rock, the smog is back. The air in the city is starting to reek of smoke and it’s not because there’s anything necessarily burning in your neighborhood. The culprit is the excessive uncontrolled pollution that the Government is doing nothing to control.
Not only is the Government doing nothing about it, Fawad Chaudhry just blamed the smog on India
The Minister for Science and Technology just made a statement on behalf of the Ministry of Climate Change that they had apparently informed the cabinet that the pollution in Lahore, which by the way we all knew was going to happen anyway because it’s an annual phenomenon, was caused because of India.
Min of Climate Change informed the Cabinet that Pollution in Lahore is caused by cross border field fires and abysmal environmental conditions in India level of pollution at Wagha is double than Lahore city, #Modi Govt is failing is every aspect irresponsible Govts are a curse

Of course people couldn’t help call out the pathetic excuse being made by Fawad Chaudhry regarding the smog
The fact that it is a phenomenon that happens every year, our authorities choose to do nothing about it but blame it on India every year as if putting the blame on India means we don’t have to take any measures to control whatever contribution we are making to the cause of this pollution.
Fawad sahib what are we doing in areas that we control ?

Sir Martians per bhi ilzaam lagaa dein. It’s not just crop fires which by the way are on both sides of the border. Most of all it’s due to relatively less clean fuel consumption and lack of traffic management

They called out the PTI Government for having a habit lying and blaming others for such things
Rather than blaming Others .. Make sure You folks do something about it. Introducing environment friendly policies in heavy polluted cities like Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Karachi whose AQI is the worst.

People brought up facts from independent air quality measuring technologies to refute the claim of Fawad Chaudhry regarding smog levels in Lahore being better than India

Just see this image. Pollution levels in lhr are higher than its surrounding areas both in India and in Pakistan. The minister is wrong and evading responsibility. Do smth about qingqi rickshaws. Source: https://t.co/mZGFmgrlto pic.twitter.com/HU7uwgx164

Interestingly Fawad sahab not only tried to blame India he also contradicted Minister of State for Climate Change
Fawad Chaudhry said that the level of pollution at Wagah border is double that of the city of Lahore while Ms. Zartaj Gul made a statement that the smog levels on the Wagah border were apparently “within predefined limits”.
دی گئی خبر غلط فہمی پر مبنی ہے۔ میں لاہور کے بارے میں اس افواہ کی تردید کرتی ہوں۔
Lahore AQ Index was actually 262 at Wahga, within predefined limits. So the reported assertion in the news is not correct.#MinistryofClimateChange pic.twitter.com/2OBDD38193

It is extremely disgustingly pathetic that people who claimed to be bringing change to the country with “better policies” than the past 70 odd years are making sad excuses for their lack of actual action on the matter.
These actions of blaming India, finding excuses and making up false figures are in direct violation of the fundamental right to security of a person as enshrined in the Article 9 of the Constitution of Pakistan which states that “[n]o person shall be deprived of life or liberty save in accordance with law” and I’m pretty sure that the law wouldn’t allow the Government to kill its people with lack of action to protect against a climate crisis like this. But then again is there any hope from leaders like this?
