Pakistani Mothers Were Asked To Share Funny Stories About Their Bachon Ka Bachpan And They're EPIC

By MangoBaaz Studio | 27 Jul, 2017

We asked Pakistani mothers to share funny stories from their early parenting days and man, their stories were more HILARIOUS than we thought:

1. The Projectile Pee.

“One cozy afternoon, past the qaari saab’s teaching lesson to my elder daughters, like all Pakistani mothers I thought mein bachay ko dhoop laga doon. In the drawing room, I set some blankets on the carpet, a spherical cushion (kyunkay sarr bhi tou gol kerna tha) and lay him down. After an hour or so, we realized he needed a change of diapers. As soon as I pulled down his shorts and opened up the diaper to inspect, out came a projectile pee that landed on the wall, my favorite Russian vase and pretty much soaked up in our beautiful Chinese carpet. To my horror, it was the longest pee he has ever taken.”

2. The Shaadi Vomit

“It was my brother’s shaadi and the only memorable wedding present my baby gave me was drenching my lovely banarasi red sari in vomit. And not the regular kind – the one with chunks and bits.”

3. The Potty Scavenger Hunt

“Once, my son left a trail of poop all over the living room for me. Before long, it became a scavenger hunt. There was potty under the sofa, behind the curtains, on the carpet, on the cushions, on the rug, INSIDE THE CUPBOARD IN THE TV CABINET.

I wish I had taken a picture. It would have made a very embarrassing birthday post on Facebook now that he’s eighteen.”

4. The Very Honest Youngling

“My best friend had returned from vacation and came to pick my three-year-old and I for some ice-cream. Once in the car, the friend asked me whether she’d gotten a tan. Before I could say anything, the little one responded with “aunty aap tou sach mein itni kaali ho ker aayi hein”

5. The In-House Swimming Pool

“My kids loved swimming, so much that they would usually try to recreate the experience in the bathroom. This one time my daughters and their cousin decided to cover the door crack and keep the taps running. Within a half hour, they managed to flood not only the whole apartment but we had water running down the stairs to other peoples’ houses. Ab jaa ker hassi aati hay magar uss waqt kafi dinon tak ghar mein se geeli carpets ki smell bardasht kerni parri

6. The Unlikely Cooking Adventure

“Birthdays at my susraal were always a little grand. My husband has many siblings, all of which were married with kids, all the same age. One of these birthdays, a gang of five-year-old chuddi buddis invaded our fridge, took out all the party leftovers: saalans, samosas, lasagna, cake, ketchup, mustard and dahi among other things into this one big daigchi in attempts of a new dish.

It looked horrible, it smelled horrible and they ruined my dream of spending the next two days out of the kitchen”

7. The Bicycle Baths.

“My kids loved to climb three flight of stairs steering their bicycles out of the garage to the bathroom, strip down to their underwears, dilute all of our shampoo bottles with water and wash the bikes.”

8. The Beloved Pair of Slippers

“My daughter slept tugging on to her new pair of barbie slippers kyunkay woh bohot achay hein aur zameen mein ganday ho jaayeingay.

I didn’t have the heart to explain to her the eventuality of things.”

9. The Selectively Constipated.

“Potty training my daughter was an azaab. We would get the potty seat out, put on her favorite show, accommodate her in the tv lounge and even after an hour, there would be NOTHING in there.”

10. The Sleepy Heads

“We had a sabzi dopehar ko aur kids’ favorite meals at night kind of a policy. Once, I made teenday and served a rather small helping to each of them. They sat staring at us, we sat staring back at them. This power struggle lasted a while magar phir dono baari baari niwala letay letay so gaye. I finally caved and made them cheese sandwiches. All mothers know this will be happening eventually.”
